While I had my friend’s wide angle lens I tried to make the most of having it. Especially on days like the one in this photo of Instow. It was a very windy day, even though the waves don’t look very big it’s very deceiving as the water is very sheltered as the rivers Taw and Torridge meet. Often on days like this you can see the rough sea out past Appledore. This day had seen plenty of showers and the weather was very changeable allowing an extremely dynamic sky. The only downside is it can be a pain to meter because by the time you have recomposed the light has changed again!
As the year is drawing to an end, thoughts often become reflective. I am really looking forward to next year. I have an exciting new job, a happy family and a revitalised enthusiasm for life. I have met several new local photographers which has been great, and now that I will have conventional working hours I hope to join them a little more often. I have over the year, looked within myself and learned to trust what I like in a photo, rather than what I think people will like. I feel 2011 is going to be a good year for me.
I have to replace the motherboard in the three computers in the next day or two after playing juggle the hardware when my server died last week, the replacement should be arriving tomorrow, (why do things always break at bad postage times?) so I have to put everything back as it should be. I’m not sure if this is going to be my last post for 2010, I think there is a good chance it will be, so I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy new year. I’m thankful for everyone that takes the time to look at my photos and especially grateful to those that spare a second for a comment or two. I’m also very grateful for anyone taking the time to vote for my blog on cool photoblogs and their 2010 awards. I know I won’t win but the fact people have voted at all is very encouraging. I just hope I can improve next year.
I wish you all a happy and prosperous 2011, have a Happy New Year!
Dave
