Chapel of St Nicholas on Lantern Hill Ilfracombe

The Chapel of St Nicholas sits on the top of Lantern Hill in Ilfracombe dominating the view from the harbour. From the top of Lantern Hill you can see all of the harbour and surrounding cliffs. St Nicholas’ Chapel is said to be Ilfracombe’s oldest building, recorded as having been a lighthouse in 1522 but was used for various purposes after that date. It was restored in the sixties.
